Gastronomy
The gastronomy of Piles is included in that of typically Mediterranean
smell and taste. The presence of seafood and fish and that of fresh
vegetables, are basic ingredients for the cooking of this part of the
Mediterranean. As typical valencians near the sea, the inhabitants of
Piles, are great rice eaters in its three varieties according to the
cooking process: Arròs caldós Arròs
al forn and Paella in all its varieties (Valencian,
Sea, Black, Mixed
) highlighting also other typical dishes
of our gastronomy like, Coca en llanda, Figatells,
Coques de Dacsa, etc.

During most of the year the orange is the fruit par excellence, as a
dessert of any kind of meal, the orange is digestive and delicious,
made as juice its refreshing at any time of the day.
The orange constitutes the most important income source of the village,
due to the great quantity of citric company handlers. Being the European
countries the main importers of most of the citrics grown in this locality..
